Miss you, Dad

I have never been interested in grand birthday celebrations.  I am usually quite pleased to celebrate the day with a  strong chai from the roadside shop, a relaxed walk with srp discussing everything under the sun.  This year’s birthday is however different. It is the first time that I will not get a call from my dad and it’s not easy to suppress this missing feeling.  I wish he were alive to light up my day. There’s definitely solace in Hitchen’s quote: “To the dumb question “Why me?” the cosmos barely bothers to return the reply: Why not?”
